Project Team Management

Applies to: All

Overview

The Team page controls who can work on a single website (project) inside your organization. Being an organization Member lets someone sign in to FlexSite; a project role decides what they can change on this specific site.

Key concepts

  • Organization member — invited under Members; can see the org and any projects they are assigned to.
  • Project role — permissions for this website only (publish domains, change server size, edit content via Quick Login, etc.).
  • Admin (project) — usually full control on this project, including Team and Domains.
  • Developer — often can deploy, sync environments, and adjust Build Settings; may not manage billing.
  • Viewer / editor — read-only or content-only access depending on how your org configures roles.

Example

  • Alex (org admin) invites Jordan (member) under Members.
  • Alex opens the marketing site → Team → adds Jordan as Editor so Jordan can use Quick Login but cannot delete the project.
  • Sam (finance) stays an org Member with no project role — Sam cannot open the website dashboard unless added on Team.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an organization owner/admin or a project admin to change Team.
  • The person must already accept an org invite under Members before they appear on Team.

Steps — add someone to this project

  1. Open the project Overview.
  2. Click Team in the sidebar.
  3. Click Add member.
  4. Select a person from the organization list.
  5. Choose a project role that matches their job (editor vs technical lead).
  6. Save. They will see this project on Projects after refreshing.

Steps — change or remove access

  1. On Team, find the member row.
  2. Change the role dropdown if their responsibilities shifted.
  3. Click Remove to revoke access to this project only — they remain an org Member until removed under Members.

What project roles do not control

  • Billing and org Settings — org owner/admin only.
  • Digital Assets library uploads — often org-wide permissions.

If someone “cannot see a button,” check both org membership and project Team role.
